At the beginning of April the official Xbox blog accidentally revealed the release date of Battlefield 4 as October 29. It was also only stated that the game was coming to the Xbox 360 on that date, suggesting there may be an exclusivity period. Now a poster has appeared reconfirming an October release date, but stating it’s going to be October 31. That makes sense, as the poster is from EBGames in Australia, and it’s typical to have a couple of days difference in launches between the US, Europe, and Australia. The poster offers more than just a date confirmation, though. There’s a bunch of information included such as details of how going premium will bag you “exclusive expansions” starting with one called Drone Strike. There’s a TBA after the name, but that looks like it could be the first DLC pack for the game.Other nuggets of information on the poster include details of Battlelog 2.0, which is a new version of the Battlefield portal allowing you to track your play stats. Armchair General is also listed and described as a “brand new commander mode” where you get to lead a team. You can see the poster in its entirety below (click to see it full size). And don’t forget there’s quite a few screenshots of the game as well as a 17-minute gameplay video to watch and get excited about. If nothing else the game looks gorgeous and is sure to sell a few million copies in the run up to Christmas. However, there is a concern the game will be always-connected, just like SimCity is, and we all know how well that went down with gamers.
