Swordsmanship choirs and other fundraising planned for Japan

ESL Services donated $5,000 to Brock’s fundraising campaign for Japanese earthquake relief last week. Come out, bring your lunch and make a donation while you enjoy the demonstration. (poster)Enlightenment Guaranteed, a German/Japanese movie, will be shown at 7 p.m. on March 31 in the International Student Lounge of the International Centre. The film is a comedy about two German brothers discovering Japanese people and society.Brian Power, an associate professor of Music, will present two choirs in the Guernsey Market . The Brock Women’s Choir will perform on Wednesday, April 6 from 2 to 2:30 p.m. The Brock Men’s Choir will perform on Thursday, April 7 from 2 to 2:30 p.m.Meanwhile, ESL Services has donated $5,000 to Brock’s fundraising effort. The money goes to the Canadian Red Cross for the relief work it is doing Japan.The island nation was struck by a devastating earthquake and tsunami on March 11. More than 11,000 are confirmed dead.Donations will be accepted at the International Services and Programs Abroad office at GLN-B 210 in the International Centre.
