GAA NEWS: MALIN GAA RECEIVE 60,000 IN FUNDING FOR NEW GYM

first_imgMalin GAA News:RADIO NA GAELTACHTA SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPMalin are playing the quarter final of the Senior Championship next Sunday 13th of September in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny at 3.00. The team came out of a tough group containing three division one teams and now face St. Michael’s from Dunfanaghy. The club would urge as many supporters and club members to make an effort to get to the match and support the team in a massive game for the club. OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE NEW GYMJoe McHugh, Minister of State, department of Gaeltacht will officially open the club’s new gym on Saturday the 12th of September at 12.00pm. The Junior Minister was helpful to the club in awarding €60,000 for gym equipment in what will be a fully furnished fitness gym with treadmills, rowing machines, spin bikes, exercise bikes as well as weight machines and an array of loose weights with full changing and shower facilities. This is another example of the great work the development committee has put into the club and the club would like to acknowledge the huge amount of voluntary work put into the fitness gym and thank all the volunteers who helped out in any way in the construction and completion of the project. The club would like to invite all the members who were involved in the gym construction to the official opening on Saturday and refreshments will be served upstairs in the club house afterwards. UNDERAGEMalin under 13’s lost against St. Eunan’s on Sunday by 8 points in Connolly park against a very strong Letterkenny side. It was the team’s first match and after a rusty first half they improved greatly in the second half. They now face Naomh Padraig in Muff on Friday night at 6.30pm.LOTTOThere was no winner of this weeks jackpot of €2200. The numbers drawn were 7-4-6-1-2-5-3 and the €50 winner was Colm Curley, Magherard, Malin with the €20 sellers prize going to Christopher McLaughlin, Auchayclay. There is still time to sign up for the six week programme for €60 per person or pay as you go €5 per class.
