Bonnie Raitt & Mavis Staples – “Live Wire”[Video: Sheryl Crow]“Live Wire” comes on the heel of Crow’s “Redemption Day” release featuring Johnny Cash. The song was originally written by Crow back in the 1990s when it appeared on her self-titled 1996 album. Cash would go on to hear the song for the first time in 2003, shortly before his death in September of that year. Cash apparently asked a lot of questions about what the various lyrics penned by Crow may have meant, as he didn’t want to perform a cover the song without connecting with its core meaning, according to a statement shared via press release. Cash’s cover of “Redemption Day” would go on to appear on his 2010 American VI: Ain’t No Grave album.Crow’s Threads collaborative album will feature 17 tracks full of the music world’s favorite musicians including Don Henley, Keith Richards, Stevie Nicks, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Maren Morris, and more.Keep an eye on Sheryl Crow’s website for her Threads release date announcement and more information.
