He told Telegraph: “I once came in from a training session and someone had texted me saying they’d seen in The Coventry Telegraph that Maddison was going to Tottenham. “I texted my agent and said, ‘Am I? Am I going to Tottenham?’ I wasn’t. From then I knew: you just focus on football.” He went on to join Norwich in 2016 before he joined Leicester in 2018 after loan spells with Coventry and Aberdeen.
