Manchester: India will aim to continue with their unbeaten streak in the ongoing World Cup when they face a low-on-confidence West Indies team at Old Trafford on Thursday. After coming out with commanding performances in their first three World Cup games, the Men in Blue had to toil hard against Afghanistan to earn their fourth victory of the ongoing tournament in their last game.Riding on Mohammad Shami’s hat-trick, India successfully defended a below par total at a sluggish Rose Bowl wicket in Southampton last Saturday.Against Windies, Shami is likely to retain his place in the playing XI as India are unlikely to risk playing Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was sidelined due to a hamstring injury. The top-order has performed in all the four completed matches and has been the strength of the Indian team. However, the middle order looked a bit scratchy against Afghanistan and Virat Kohli would want M.S. Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar to get into the groove and perform against the attacking bowling line-up of the Windies. With nine points from five games, India are comfortably positioned in the top four and require two wins out of the remaining four games to book their place in the semi-finals.West Indies, on the other hand, come into the match in what is a must-win proposition for them on the back of a heart-wrenching five-run loss to New Zealand. The Jason Holder-led side has been quite inconsistent in the tournament so far. They have had moments of brilliance from individuals like Carlos Brathwaite and Sheldon Cottrell but what they have lacked is the team performance. The Caribbean team has been unable to perform collectively as a team, a result of which is that they are currently positioned at the eighth spot with three points from six games. They have lost four of their last six games (one ended in no result) and are desperate for a win. Another concern going into the game against India is the absence of their star hard-hitting all-rounder Andre Russell, who has been ruled out of the tournament with a hamstring injury. Coláiste Ailigh teacher Proinsias Mac a’ Bhaird has gained top marks from a past student who has nominated him for a special award. Caoimhe Ní Chathail, a broadcast journalist from Donegal, has put Mac a’ Bhaird’s name forward for a Teachers Inspire award in recognition of his endless inspiration as an Irish and History teacher. From Árainn Mhór in Donegal, Proinsias is also a well-known writer of prose and poetry. The new Teachers Inspire initiative is aimed at highlighting and celebrating the enormous contribution made by teachers in Irish society. Reflecting on her time at school, Caoimhe credited Prionsais Mac A’Bhaird as the teacher who had the strongest influence on her: “As students who were already fluent Irish speakers, we needed extra inspiration… He encouraged our interest and respect for the language, something which confirmed for me that I should continue with Irish in University and in my career.“He was a source of expertise and he was always happy to share information, to inspire our writing and to encourage us to do our own research. These are all essential elements of my job as a journalist – so who knows where I would be without his classes.” Over the past month, people all over Ireland have been urged to nominate teachers who transformed their lives and/or their community. Stories of inspiring teachers can be submitted through the teachersinspire.ie website for a limited number of days, with the closing date for submissions on Saturday the 30th of June. The initiative will then culminate in the inaugural Teachers Inspire Ireland gala dinner on the 27th of September. Some of the stories received to date focus on a teacher in the 1940s, who provided free secondary education for students in her locality. Another one is of a secondary school maths teacher, who supported one of his students to come out as a gay young man in the early 1990s. Commenting today, the President of DCU, Professor Brian McCraith said, “We have received some remarkable entries to date about the transformative role teachers from Donegal – and across the country – have played in people’s lives, and the lasting impact they have had on their communities. We are delighted this initiative is highlighting the hugely important role teachers have played in Irish life – and continue to play – and we look forward to receiving even more inspiring entries before the deadline on 30th June.”Letterkenny teacher gets glowing report – from former pupil! was last modified: June 25th, 2019 by Caitlin LairdShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Caoimhe Ní ChathailColaiste AilighProinsias Mac a’ Bhaird

The club’s nicknames are ‘the blues.’ Since the team started playing in the EPL, Chelsea has had several victories. This includes: winning FA cups, winning 6 of the top titles in English football, winning the community shield cup, winning the UEFA super cup and UEFA Europa League, winning the full ember’s cup and winning the UEFA champion’s league among others. However, in the year 2019, the football club has had various scenarios that they can describe as being the best.Winning the European trophyWinning the UEFA Europe league was one of Chelsea’s best scenarios. The match was played against arsenal whereby Chelsea managed to score four goals while Arsenal scored one goal. Of the four goals scored, two of them were scored by Eden Hazard. Eden Hazard was also the man of the match. He made it quite tricky for Arsenal players to access the ball when it was at his feet. He also linked well to his fellow players and opened space for them. He was also involved in all the scored goals. He could have become the star in the game if he could have scored two more goals. Embed from Getty ImagesFinishing third in the Premier LeagueIn the previous season 2017/2018, Chelsea had finished at position five. The club kicked the 2018/2019 season well with several games going unbeaten. As the season progressed, the club’s coach targeted to complete the premier league at being among the top four. Finishing at the third position was, therefore, success to the team. It allows them to participate in the UEFA champion’s league which they did not participate in this season. EFL’s runner’s upManchester City won the 2018/2019 EFL cup. However, Chelsea managed to reach the finals whereby Manchester city managed to win. Maurizio Sarri, the club’s coach, was satisfied with these results. He said that at that stage, it was a success. This was another moment that could be termed as the best scenario of the club in 2019. Playing EFL up to the finals is not that easy. Manchester city was I good form during this season, and Chelsea managed to end the game in a draw. They lost to Manchester City at the penalties, and that was reasonable effort. This match was gambled so much in various poker sites. ConclusionChelsea began the 2018/2019 on a high note. It went undefeated for several games, and their fans were confident that they would maintain this form in a series of matches. The team, however, managed to pose an improvement when compared to its performance during the last season. The envelope, pleaseOne of the issues we see in multifamily buildings is inconsistent definition and location of the building envelope.Exterior walls are pretty straightforward, except for the assorted bump-outs that are typically only aesthetic. With few exceptions, the on-grade or elevated podium slabs generally define the bottom of the envelope.Roofs vary from steep slope to flat, offering multiple opportunities for insulation location, and often creating complex kneewall conditions. We see flat roofs specified with deck insulation as the base for roofing (not intended to serve as thermal insulation), often with ceiling insulation specified – creating a sort of semi-conditioned attic that wastes much of the value of the roof deck insulation. In one recent project, where the specified roof deck insulation was adequate as the thermal barrier, we recommended that the ceiling insulation be eliminated, creating a fully conditioned attic in the process. This detail did create some kneewalls that needed additional attention at cantilevers and against elevator shafts, but the overall results were better and less expensive than the original design. Having spent much of my time writing for GBA whining and complaining about the state of the insulation industry, it is now time for me to eat a little crow. The insulation work at one of our multifamily certification projects has, amazingly, met – and even possibly exceeded – my expectations for quality. After recently being fired from a certification project because we were being too demanding on the contractor, we were pleasantly surprised to find another client who was not only willing but eager to do high quality building envelope work. To meet NGBS certification through the prescriptive path, the project needed to meet the Grade 1 installation standard for insulation. Since the budget included fiberglass batt insulation, we raised our concerns early in the process, apparently with some success as the contractor found an installer who not only claimed to do Grade 1 work, but actually accomplished it.The installers are proud of their work and it shows. The batts are consistently cut properly to fit the wall cavities, and are (mostly) split around wires and pipes. Interestingly, during a recent inspection, I pulled back some batts around plumbing drains to find the lower section split properly while the top section wasn’t. I find it hard to understand the thought process behind this type of inconsistency. Onward and upwardAs our consulting and certification work on multifamily building expands, we continue to find new and interesting challenges that must be overcome for our clients to meet green certification. We see every challenge as an opportunity to improve building performance, learn something new, and help others figure out how to do a better job the next time. One great thing about this business is that there are always new challenges, keeping us and our clients on our toes and our days interesting. Air sealing is still a challengeDuring our initial walk-through prior to the start of insulation, we identified several chases on each floor that required additional air sealing. The construction team was not aware of these energy code and NGBS requirements. Although the city building inspectors don’t seem to enforce them, we do.The team installed drywall in the chases to provide the required air barrier. We recently invited the architects to meet with us on site to discuss some of the air sealing details, providing them feedback on how they can better document them on future projects. Elaine, a long time and valued employee of the organisation, succumbed to her battle with cancer on Tuesday, 5 October 2010. During her time with the NSWTA she was one of the early “glass ceiling breakers” for female sports administrators through her role as the NSWTA Tournament Manager. A tough job that she handled with aplomb, dedication, professionalism and when needed, humour. Her personal nature and approach saw her make many friends in her time not just with the NSWTA but indeed throughout the sport in general and we know many will be touched by this sad news.On behalf of the Board, Staff and the wider Touch Football community we pass on our condolences and loving thoughts to Bob, Cameron and Stephanie, Evan and Kristy and Elaine’s granddaughter’s Amelia, Claudia and Isla at this sad time. Elaine’s Funeral will be held on Monday, 11 October at 1.30pm, South Chapel Eastern Suburbs Crematorium. Followed by a celebration of life at Bardwell Park RSL.
